OCEAN-i
Foundation of Ocean-i Having different dreams and persistence towards the pursuit of art, the four founders of Ocean-i encountered each other in their lives and jointly established the brand. The Chinese name of "Ocean-i" is "海津", in which, the word "海" means "Hundred of rivers aggregate to the Sea" in Chinese, implying many scattered things being brought together into one place - a metaphor of one direction of the popular sentiment, also a metaphor of four people from different places sharing the same dream and same belief. The word "津"can be split into two parts, the right hand side "聿" means the ancient Chinese character of "pen" while the left hand side means Chinese character of "water", hence the word "津" can also imply "water pen" or "water brush". Ocean-i is introducing one of the most famous China brushes, the strongest water absorption brush: the "Yang Zhou water brush." In addition to mastering the control in using the mix of water and color, successful watercolor painters may also need to know how to use water with thin layers of color to express the texture and the layering of the paintings. Hence, the control of water is absolutely crucial. A watercolor brush with excellent water absorption and extraordinary resilience can help the painter to express the most sincere emotion and feelings on his/her artworks. Ocean-i combines the Eastern and Western techniques in crafting the watercolor brushes. Composing the excellent features altogether, Ocean-i aims to produce the world's best handcraft watercolor brushes.
